I don’t know about you, but our junk drawers are growing. Back in the day we only had one “collect all” drawer that had pens, pencils, paper clips, and other random things shoved in it. As the years have passed and kids have grown, so has our junk drawer. It has actually grown so much that we now have three! One is too many in my opinion so I decided to tackle them. While on my mission to organize and throw out the clutter I also discovered some pretty handy ways to organize using items we had laying around the house. I love it when I can turn my trash into something useful.
Egg Carton Drawer Orgainzer
My brother and sister-in-law have a small egg farm and when I do purchase eggs from the store (rarely) I will save my egg carton for them and use my ceramic one. I happened to have an egg carton hanging out on the counter and decided I would put it to use as a drawer organizer. This handy carton fits into my drawer perfectly and even has great cups for holding small things like paper clips and push pins. I love it!

Mason Jar Organizer
Thanks to my mother-in-law, I have been making my own kefir lately. Because of this, I have a large assortment of mason jars. The kids love to craft and these are the perfect height for holding things like pipe cleaners, rulers, scissors and markers. I love the look of mason jars and the functionality is a bonus. Another great idea would be to turn them on their side and hot glue them together for horizontal storage.

Clothes Pin Holder
Rubber bands are extremely helpful but ours were out of control! I had to come up with a way to keep these fellas contained. My husband recently hung a clothes line for me and I had the thought to use a few of the clothes pins to hold the rubber bands together. Not only are they all in one place, but I can also clip the clothes pin to the top of my mason jars to keep everything together. Better yet, the clothes pins are also great for holding bits of string and our electrical cords for charging our phones.

I absolutely love finding new uses for old things and saving money while organizing. I would love to hear your tips for cheap and easy home organization.
